Whew! Thank goodness that's over!

Lee and I experienced the joys of Black Friday for the first time. We were mostly tired and bored. We went out to IF and headed out super early (12 something AM) to ToysRUs first (They were supposed to open at Midnight), but their line was ridiculous. It went from the store to the road then wrapped around the parking lot. Holy cow! Did these people not know how cold it was outside. So then we just went to SuperWalmart (which is a 24H store, so we could go in and shop). Well, we weren't allowed to buy our sale items until 5AM. So we had a lot of nothing to do. It did take some time to find what we wanted because the sale items were not anywhere near the departments you'd expect them to be in. (Lee's gift [which I'm not going to tell] was in the baby section of all places, and mine [a Cricut!] was next to the pharmacy). Eventually, we got out of there, we were the first in line and had what must have been the slowest and most perfectionistic cashier.
After Walmart we went to BedBath&Beyond and then off to Michaels [for Cricut cartridges]. Then we were done. (I just ordered what we wanted from ToysRUs online and got free shipping too!)

Speaking of Cricut! I love mine! Lee let me open it early so that I could get started on the invites for Charity's 1st birthday party. For those who are unfamiliar with the term a Cricut is kind of like a printer, but instead of printing it cuts (although it could print too, but not the same as a printer). You collect and borrow cartridges like video games. (The cartridges give you different fonts or shapes or etc to cut out).  So, instead of buying a Wii game for me for Christmas, Lee knows to get me new cartridges. What a sweetie! Melissa & Doug.

The year is coming to an end and with that comes Christmas and two Christmas birthdays. We've started our searches for presents. There are tons of cute toys for Charity from Melissa and Doug that we like. There's really too much cute stuff there to choose from. There's a giveaway going on right now for their Doll House and Dolls. We're really excited about this one.

Below is a picture of her in a local shop that sells mostly Melissa & Doug toys, she really enjoyed herself. Charity has several Melissa & Doug puzzles and is getting a Piano for her birthday (Shh! Don't tell!).
Today is Dec 9th, so that leaves 8 more days to make entries into this contest. Wish us luck! Feel free to help out and enter yourself too.

New Blog

We added a new blog to our list. It's where we can post some of the scrapbooking pages that have been worked on recently. The blog is titled: Scrapbook'N Stimpsons. There should be a link to it in a list on the right hand side of this blog.

Mesa Falls

After a short debate of what to do one evening we decided to pack up as quick as we can, grab a couple of sandwiches from Subway, and head down the road to Mesa Falls. It was the retreat we all needed. We got to play and explore together, what we always love.

McCain 50th Anniversary

We traveled to California last weekend to attend Grandpa & Grandma McCain's 50th wedding anniversary. We were late getting there, but were able to make it there in time for the family photos. The party was beautiful and fantastic. It was held at a small winery in Tracy. The food was the best ever and the company was great. Not enough could be said or done to honor all that Grandpa & Grandma are and have done for everyone. They are amazing examples and a beacon of hope in a deteriorating world. Their love shone as pure and as strong as the day they were married. It was neat to look around and see only some of the lives that were touched and the miracles that were created all because two people fell in love and stayed in love.

While in California we visited Six Park Marine World. There was lots to do and see there, so much that we didn't get to go everywhere we wanted to in just a day. Charity was so excited she barely bothered to nap, because behind every corner there was something new to explore and discover. She was well behaved the whole time and fell quickly asleep on the way back to the hotel.

At the hotel the boys thought it would be funny to see if Charity fit in the dresser. She did and oddly enough seemed to enjoy herself.

Drama, Drama, Drama!

Last Sunday night we were driving home from Lee's family's home. On our way home we saw fire trucks on their way to an emergency. Looking at the speeding trucks and flashing lights we say "I hope it's no one we know". Driving further on we see the trucks arrive behind our neighbors' trees. We freak out and figure the fire trucks must be either at our neighbors' home (who are out of town) or our home! We pull in to see fire trucks and police cars in our driveway! Ahhh! No one was hurt. No one lost their home. One of the tractors behind our home randomly caught on fire. It's a mess, but it could have been a lot worse.

We head back to Lee's family's home at 1AM and the detectives and whatnot are still at our home. On the road there we find kittens in the middle of the road. We now have a cute little orange and white kitten. Lee has named him "Dash".
