Get-Away to Jackson Hole, WY

We all decided that we just needed to get away for a day. So one day this week we woke up and said today's the day. Lee went to his class (which go out extra early) while I packed and got little Miss Charity ready. We headed out. It was a nice day outside with plenty of sunshine. When we got closer to the pass there was a storm cloud over the pass. We were apprehensive that the day wouldn't be fun with a storm. We went through the pass just fine and came out the other end to find better weather than what we had started with in Idaho.
We window shopped around and searched for a good bathroom. If someone wanted to make some money they could just set up some nice restrooms in the center of town and add a charge for people to use them. PS. this place is not really child friendly (people are nice, but it got boring at times for Charity), also it is not very accessible for anyone with wheels (wheelchairs, strollers, etc).

We picnicked in Town Square (Antler Park as Lee calls it) and watched people come and go all around. Lee found it interesting how many people brought their dogs to the park and completely ignored the "no dogs allowed" sign.
We toured the town a bit and pretended we could ever afford living there. Jackson used to be a millionaire place, but now I guess the billionaires bought their places up and pushed the millionaires to the other side of the pass. It was amazing when we looked at items in the shops how much they were priced for those extravagantly wealthy few. Clothing cost at average, it seemed, at least $350 for one piece. It's sad how 5% off the nation's population hold over 60% of its wealth. Hmmm...should I feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, or buy a new outfit for my mistress? Tough call.
We found a climbing gym called Enclosure south of the town. It had been a while since either of us had gone climbing so we vowed to each other to rebuild our strength and come back again and last longer. We did still have a ton of fun. I had forgotten how much I love it.

We went back to the center of town, toured around a bit more. We found a cute hat for Charity and a new brown leather belt for Lee. Then finally found a restaurant we felt wasn't priced for billionaires. But of course we waited forever and a day for a table to get burgers at Cadillac Grill. If we didn't need a booth, it may have been a shorter wait, but we did and we can to compete for them as it was seat-yourself-seating. For those of you who are looking to go, the food is okay, but not worth the long wait, if there is one when you go. Anyway, after we were done the town was lit up asking us to stay just a bit longer. We came home in the dark with a cool sliver of a moon clear and bright ahead of us. It was a nice drive back, but I hated having to see the sign "Welcome to Idaho" again. Did I mention this was my first time to Wyoming? It was a good one.

Rosy Cheek Boutique

One of Danielle's New Years resolutions was to get an online boutique going. She's started it and calls it "Rosy Cheek Boutique". She also has "Kindred Crafts", but puts her focus in the boutique.

Rosy Cheek Boutique is mainly for infants, toddlers, and kids. Danielle's using a few patterns for girls' clothing, boys' neck ties, boys' & girls infant shoes, and much more.

To see the progress she's made go to rosycheekboutique.blogspot.com. There will be different buttons on the side to link you to various projects if you want to see more pictures and info.

Please refer everyone you know with little ones 0-12 years to the boutique. Thanks!

Spring is nearly here!

Two smiles that just had to be shared.

Well spring is at our doorstep and we're already started preparing for a new season, either that or we're starting to come out of hibernation.
Lee has built himself a mini greenhouse out of window plastic and scrap boards. It looks pretty cool. We've started collecting seeds and starts and wondering what to plant this year in our garden. In the back yard some spring flowers (tulips, daffodils, and etc) have already begun to sprout and the strawberries are showing their green leaves, the weeds are coming in well too. (This line of flowers come early as they are next a shop with heated flooring.
Charity is as active as ever. She's going through her stage where she thinks it's funny to do what she knows she's not supposed to. (We're praying this is just a stage). The snow is melting outside (or at least it was) and so the ground is too muddy and wet for her to play at the park just yet. She'll be super excited when she can. For now she's taken up climbing bookshelves and baby gates.
Danielle has been working on her sewing projects for "Rosy Cheek Boutique". Lee's just registered for his last semester of classes. Everyone's keeping busy these days. We'd go insane if we weren't busy.

Christmas Eve at the Stimpson Home

The entire Stimpson Family: Both Parents, All Kids, All Grandkids, and All Daughter/Son-In-Laws. I'd write out everyone's names, but I'm not sure which of the baby twins is which.

Charity with her cousins, Stephenny and Lydia. I think Stephenny is the one on the right.

Our little family in our new PJ's!

Hard at Work

Lee has been helping his family sheet rock his parent's basement. They have been working on one of his younger sister's (Sarah) room.

Yum, Cake!

Here are some pictures of Charity's cake (and cupcake for her to destroy). I made the cake, with the help of Helen Bratt and Lisa Lusk (Thanks). It originally was planned to be a giant cupcake, but it evolved during the process of creation. We all think it turned out pretty cute. Oh, and there are still leftovers if anyone is interested, both of Lee's and Charity's birthday cakes.

The bottom layer of the cake was vanilla and chocolate cake and was supposed to be in a checkered board pattern.

Charity really really enjoyed her first taste of cake. She especially loved all of the frosting. It was a fun mess to clean up afterwards. Happy Birthday, Miss Charity!

Here's a before picture of Charity's cupcake.

Lee's little cousins liked decorating the top of the cake some more after the party.
